I asked you guys where you wanted to see some try-ons from in my IG stories and BR was one that was highly requested, more specifically for some work wear options.
Being as I work from home, it has been a loooooong time since I have had to slip into anything other than blue jeans or workout leggings to get ready for my day. I used to really enjoy getting dressed and piecing together looks when I did work outside the home so this was a fun try-on.
I tried to put together as many looks as possible with the pieces I found to create a bit of a capsule wardrobe. I am ALL about getting the most bang for my buck and also love versatile garments that can easily transition through seasons to make several outfits. Let’s go!
This was my favorite look from the entire try-on. I really loved these cute, exposed, button fly jeans. The was was a great color, the fit was amazing coming up high on the waist and they weren’t too tight with just the right amount of stretch. The color of the rosey-copper buttons is so pretty and I just fell in love with them you guys! They fit TTS. I also loved this cozy, orange sweater. I cannot believe how much I am drawn to this color lately but this sweater was dreamy. It fit really well, wasn’t itchy and would be perfect for a casual look like shown or a day at the office. TTS, I am in a small. Sweater| Denim|Shoes
Another great find was this cute, lightweight, color block sweater. It was TTS (in a small). Being hot natured since having a baby, I love lighter options for layering. I paired this one with the exposed fly button jeans I fell in love with and a more work friendly look on the right with the Sloan black pants. While I liked how the pants fit and looked (TTS), I like my pants to fit higher on my waist and these hit right at my hips. While super cute, they were not a win for me as I would opt for something that comes up on the waist more. Sweater| Denim| Black Slacks|Shoes
Same sweater, different looks. I like the fit of the color block sweater so much I tried it in this cute C’est L’amour option as well. Here I also paired it with a more casual denim look, office look and even topped it with this navy blazer. I liked liked how the navy in the jacket pulled out the navy in the sweater wording and y’all, this blazer fit so well and made so many great looks! TTS, wearing a 4. I plucked up one of these satin utility button downs for a try and I really liked this top. It would be great for a day at the office or a casual lunch date. It fit TTS (in small) and the buttons make it breast feeding or pumping friendly too. I paired it with the pink denim and the olive pants. The pink denim pants while TTS and stretchy were VERY tight! I felt like they were painted on and as pretty as the color is, they were not a win for this mama. The olive pants are also the Sloan fit that the black slacks are and while they are cute and fit TTS hit too low on the hips for my personal preference. Satin Top|Pink Denim|Olive Pant|Shoes
I tried on this fitted button down shirt for an office inspired look and I was really impressed with the fit. Normally I have a tough time with tops like this due to my chest and have to size up and lose the intended fit of the top. It was TTS (in small)and did not pucker or gap at the bust. The material has a great stretch and also wasn’t too big at the waist so I still felt like I had some shape. I paired it with the Sloan black slacks for a relaxed untucked look, tucked look and also with the navy blazer I loved. These slacks fall too low on the hip for a true, wearable tucked in look and I would suggest a higher waisted pant, personal opinion. Button Down|Black Slack|Blazer|Shoes
I LOVED this navy hacking jacket in the BR try-on. I used to have so many blazers and wear them all the time to complete a look. I think they just streamline your waist, cap out the shoulders and add the perfect touch to both casual and work inspired looks. I chose navy because I felt it paired will with so many pieces and can even be worn with black without looking like you’re wearing a suit. Here are four looks I topped off with the navy blazer. Two more tops I loved from this try-on were this black satin front top with a cottony back. I liked how light and flowy this top was with a good stretch. I can be dressed up or down and is breastfeeding or pumping friendly. I also loved this dressier, long sleeved, flowy top in black and cream. I love the ties and button detail at the wrists as well. I sized up to a medium in both of these tops for a looser fit. Black Top|Pink Denim|Cream & Black Blouse|Black Slacks|Shoes
This dress was so cute and very comfortable!! I really love the way it feels and how non-constricted it fit. With that being said, I do feel you kind of lose your shape in it a bit from the side/profile around the waist (see right pic). This can also seem worse due to the stripes so I wish it was a bit more fitted and kept its shape even with the stretch in the material. I do like that you could wear this with a cute pair of flats like I have on, heels or even a pair of sneakers. I’m Wearing a 0. Dress|Shoes|Sneaker Option
While I was not able to find a pair of slacks with a preferred fit, I did find two pairs of jeans I loved! The light washed, straight fit jeans on the left were a great fit, high-waisted and just enough distressing. They fit TTS and would be great for upcoming spring and summer looks. The exposed button fly jeans on the right were my favorite find of the haul and I cannot speak enough on the fit and feel of these jeans! High waisted and TTS. More Banana Republic looks I’m loving right now.
